About me
My passion for gardening has gone from strength to strength over the last 10 years.
It started in my early childhood when I got to experiment with seeds and other plants. I was really overjoyed to see my mum growing Dahlias. I had my own patch then and kept sowing radish seeds. These are easy and quick to grow of course, but this was good start and encouraged me to continue with other vegetable & herb seeds like spinach, courgettes, chives, parsley, thyme and so on.
After getting an allotment near Wimborne and having passed all RHS Level 2 Qualifications, I felt ready to quit my office job. I started my garden maintenance & design business in June 2018. A few years later I achieved RHS Level 3 in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture including the practical Level 3 training. It is amazing that I can say that I really have used pretty much all the knowledge I have acquired during my training in the gardens of my mainly local customers while doing garden regular garden maintenance and visual improvements.
Living and working in the Poole Council area I’ve also gained a lot of experience of which plants do well in various conditions and of selecting coastal plants which can withstand wind swept and salty conditions.
My photorealistic compilations of planting plans (deciduous and evergreen shrubs/trees and herbaceous plants underplanted with bulbs if desired) turned out to be very similar to the actual implementation and development of the plants. An additional service “Watering during the summer months” which I introduced 2 years ago was also well accepted by customers and has ensured good performance of newly implemented plants and established plants.
I get inspirations of favourable plant combinations by visiting public gardens, RHS gardens and exhibitions, local gardens such as Poole Park, private gardens in this area or more distant plants and gardens in Italy at lake garda. When I’m out and about I always have a camera on me to capture unusual plants, plant combinations or just interesting concepts.
